To Get In:
- A 90% grade average
- Excellent record of attendance
- A commitment to achievement in education and community service
To Stay In:
- Maintain 90% or higher in three out of the four major subject areas: Math, Science, English, and Social Studies. If grades fall below 90%, attend tutoring sessions
- Take advanced math and science courses in senior year
- Take 4 semesters of research classes
- Participate in community service projects, such as Junior Achievement and New York Cares (20 hours per semester)
- Seek other opportunities for community service (1 per year)
- Offer my services as a tutor (20 periods per semester)
Important:
You must meet these requirements every year. Otherwise, you will not receive a Scholars Diploma.

Once you meet these requirements, where do you go to be a scholar. Also, this program seriously needs some publicity. I never knew this program existed until being told about from a scholar, and I was told after being in van buren for 1 YEAR. If I had known about it, I would have tried to get in!
Once you get into the program, you are to continue to maintain this requirements. Also, if your grades are good enough your guidance counselor should have informed you that you do qualify for the program.

when do you get an acceptance letter for scholars? i have applied for scholar and i didn't get an acceptance or denial letter?
